“Yes, David,” said the teacher.
“Well, one rule is, we’re not supposed to horseplay in the classroom.” said David.
“Very good, David”, said the teacher.
Many more rules were offered up by Michael’s classmates.
“Now, there’s one rule that no one has thought of. Remember the one about no kissin in the woods?”
Michael took a quick glance over to Susie and put his hand over his mouth to cover a smile. Susie did the same thing. The other kids just giggled and squirmed in their seats.
The rest of the day the children were kept busy with story telling, singing songs, coloring pictures, stacking blocks, and show and tell. Many new and exciting things were presented to the children during the day. Michael and Susie played hard at recess.
It was time to go home. Michael’s mom picked him up. When they were in the car, she asked him, as usual,
”What all did you learn at school today?”
Michael looked up at her, very seriously, and said, ”I learned there’s no kissin in the woods, and that’s a rule.”
