That afternoon when Michael’s mom picked him up at school, she asked , “How was school today,”

“Good,” said Michael. “Me and Susie kissed in the woods.”

His mom, looking surprised, asked Michael more questions about kissing in the woods.

“Did the teacher know you and Susie were in the woods?”

“Oh, yeah, everybody plays in the woods,” said Michael.

The next day when mom dropped Michael off at school, she went inside to speak with his teacher.  Michael could hear his mom telling the teacher about their kiss in the woods. His teacher just laughed and reassured his mom that this wasn’t the first time that children play’ kissin in the woods’, and would  talk to the children about it.

The teacher said, ”I guess it’s  time to have a talk about rules again.”

Michael’s mom smiled and thanked his teacher and left.

When the children were all in their seats, the teacher said,  “We’re going to talk about rules this morning.  What are rules?  Are rules good to have?”

Michael raised his hand to speak.

“Yes, Michael, what about rules, are they good or bad to have?” asked the teacher.

Michael , looking very serious, said, “They are good, cause they keep you from doing something you shouldn’t do.”

“Very good, Michael,” said his teacher. “Now what are some good rules to have?”

     David raised his hand.
